ATTENTION AUBURN SEWER CUSTOMERS

Section 3-817 of the Municipal Code requires NO DISCHARGE OF STORM WATER, SURFACE WATER, OR GROUND WATER INTO THE SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM. 

Your sanitary sewer system was not designed to handle the increased volumes from storm water, surface water, and ground water during wet weather conditions.  This can cause sewers to back up which is very upsetting to home and business owners. Also, it is not necessary to treat this type of water, so the discharge increases treatment costs for all sewer customers. 

Think of your friends and neighbors whose sewers could backup because of your unlawful discharge to the sewer system.  Please eliminate any unlawful discharge this calendar year.   Please call our office at 274-4981 and we will be glad to inspect your home or business and advise you how to proceed.
